`You're not supposed to fall in love with your hostages.` Yamada smirked, wrists clinging together, brushing cold metal.

Umika throws him a glare before reloading her gun and aiming it at him. `I'm not in love with anybody, okay.`

Yamada looks at the barrel as if it were her eyes. `Then, why didn't you kill me along with everyone else?`

Umika tries to think of a reply, but soon realizes that he was right. Yamada, almost as if he had just read her thoughts, smirks up at her before lifting his legs a bit, only to have them bound back to the chair he was tied to.

`I'm right, am I? You secretly developed a crush on me after that bank heist.`

Umika raises her hand and aims it the gun at him with clenched teeth and flushed cheeks

`Shut up! You don't know what you're saying!`

Umika's voice is loud, but scared. He takes notice of this and says

`Then, why didn't you just kill me along with everyone else? I'm pretty sure I was the one who got in the way the most out of all of them.` He looks up at her eyes now, scrunches his eyebrows and chuckles arrogantly, like a child boasting about his favorite toy.

`Could that mean- that you didn't want to kill me? That it was never your intention to kill me?`

Umika shakes her head. `If you don't shut up right now, I'm going to pull the trigger.`

`Go ahead. If you can.` The corners of his lips curve up invitingly, mocking her, telling her to do so, knowing she couldn't. Umika's left hand gripped the gun along with her right, it was shaking in her hands, breath shallow as ever. She looked like she was about to cry anytime now. Yamada took advantage when he felt the handcuffs loosen up on his hands.

`You can't do it, because you're not a bad person. You don't like what you're doing, you're not like this, right?` She shakes her head, biting her lower lip. She was holding back tears. `You're actually afraid, aren't you?` His right hand wriggled free of the handcuff. `You want to escape from all of this.`

`N-No, y-you're completely wrong!` She screamed, tears streaming down her face.

`If you want, I can save you.` He suggested, giving her a smile when his right hand got ahold of his left. `Let's get out of here.`

`You're just conditioning my mind! You just want to get out of here so that you can kill me!`

The rope holding his feet to the chair loosened, too. Making the handcuff on his left hand the only hurdle left to overcome. Yamada struggled. `I'm not. I know how you feel. I want to help you.`

`You won't.` Umika suddenly lowered her aim. `Nobody's helped me before. And nobody ever will.` Her eyes looked defeated.

The moment his left hand loosened, he got up and ran for the gun still in her hands.

A surprised shot and a grazed shoulder later, Umika was staring shocked up at the ceiling with warm arms around her.

`Wha...`

`I'll help you.`

She tried to free herself from his hold, but she couldn't, no matter how hard she tried.

`I'm going to help you. I definitely will.`

Hearing those words, she couldn't stop the tears from falling. She closed her eyes and leaned on his shoulder, hands on his back pulling him closer to her. Feeling her respond, Yamada sighed to himself and hugged her back.

`That's because.. I've fallen in love with you, too.`
