Crayon Pop đã đứng thứ nhất trên chương trình Music Bank phát sóng ngày 30/8 trên đài KBS, và các cô gái đã chọn Kim Nam Gil là người họ thích nhảy cùng nhất.

Trong chương trình, Jung Jin Woon nói: "Tôi thực sự yêu mến Crayon Pop.", và "Gần đây mọi người đều thích Crayon Pop."

[7.11.2013] Shinhwa nhảy theo bài hát ‘Bar Bar Bar’ của Crayon Pop

Các thành viên của nhóm nhạc huyền thoại Shinhwa sẽ phô diễn kỹ năng nhảy của mình thông qua bài hát ‘Bar Bar Bar’, một bản hit gây nghiện của Crayon Pop.

Tập Shinhwa Broadcast mới nhất lên sóng vào ngày 10/11 sẽ tiếp tục cho thấy sự nỗ lực của các thành viên cố gắng giúp đỡ những chú chó bị bỏ rơi của trung tâm nuôi dưỡng động vật.

Trong tập trước, các thành viên Shinhwa đã giúp đỡ các chú chó bằng cách chăm sóc, nói chuyện với chúng và tắm cho chúng.

Tập tiếp theo, các thành viên đã quyết định tổ chức ‘Dog show’ để thu hút sự chú ý cũng như kêu gọi sự giúp đỡ của mọi người dành cho những chú chó tội nghiệp này.

Lo tất tần tật mọi việc từ viết kịch bản đến tuyển MC, các thành viên đã tổ chức thành công show diễn vào ngày 22/10 tại Herbland ở Incheon.

Mỗi thành viên đã chọn ra một ‘người bạn thân’ và biểu diễn để cảm ơn hàng trăm khán giả đã đến xem buổi biểu diễn. Shinhwa cũng khích lệ mọi người nên san sẻ tình yêu của mình đến với những chú cún đáng thương và bên cạnh đó Shinhwa cũng làm cho bầu không khí vui vẻ hơn bằng cách nhảy theo bài Bar Bar Bar của Crayon Pop.

MC của buổi biểu diễn, phát thanh viên Jang Sung Gyo đã nói “Đêm hôm đó, mọi người đến dự đều là một phần của Shinhwa (huyền thoại). Buổi biểu diễn là môt thành công lớn.”

Sau chuyến lưu diễn của G-Dragon vào ngày mùng 1, Yang Hyun Suk đã nói với các phóng viên "Tôi muốn khen ngợi Crayon Pop. Kim So Yeon, Ryu Soo Young và các diễn viên trong bộ phim “Two Weeks” đã thử điệu nhảy xu hướng “Bar Bar Bar” của Crayon Pop.

How are you finding Australia?
The weather has been so nice and everyone has been so kind and welcoming. We’ve been really busy, looking around the city and seeing our fans

We love your new single Bar Bar Bar, it’s cute, disco, fun and K-Pop addictive, how have you found the social media response to the track?
We really appreciate the support we’ve had. We didn’t expect this single to become this popular but we are so grateful and looking forward to working hard in the future.

You have caused a massive YouTube following, with fans, bands, army soldiers all jumping on the Five Cylinder Engine Dance phenomenon. Do you watch all the YouTube video? What’s you favourite?
We have seen so many, so it’s really hard to pick just one, we love them all.

Will you be creating a NEW dance move for all future videos, similar to Five Cylinder Engine Dance for your album?
Yes indeed. We would like to do more dance routines that are funny and energetic in the future. Its so much fun.

Five Cylinder Engine Dance looks very tiring?
The song is very exciting for us to perform, so even though we have to perform it again and again, we love to do it. We also eat a lot for energy to perform it. [Laughs]

Who are each of your favourite pop artist, you grew up listening to, who have inspired you to become pop stars?
We grew up listening to Beyonce, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga.

You are known for your quirky costumes, what’s been your favorite outfit?
We love them all. We brought 3 different outfits with us and we have a massive wardrobe back home with about another 22 different looks

You have purposefully gone against many other K-pop groups who play the sexy & skin-barring outfits and suggestive dance moves why did you choose not to follow this path?
There have been some many “sexy” groups in Korea, so we wanted to stand out with our own style, which makes us very unique.

It certainly is unique. You secured the #1 spot in the billboard charts, congratulations. How have you found your rapid rise to fame?
Before the single became big, we had a lot of time to practice and now the single is a hit, it has meant a lot more work, more TV shows and more travelling. We are not complaining as it makes us very happy and we get to see our fans around the world, who have welcomed us where ever we have been.

We love your mini album The Street Go Disco, what is the meaning behind the title?
Well when we started out, we used to perform on the streets, and we love Disco music, as it’s bright, funny and exciting, so felt like a great name.
So what is planned for 2014?

We are playing on releasing a new single, that we hope will be a success however can’t confirm a tour just yet.

Your trademark dance move is Five Cylinder Engine Dancedo you over tired yet from having to perform it all the time?
No way. We have to perform it so many times our muscles and legs are really strong. [All Laugh]

If you had to pick an artist to win pop queen & king of pop in 2013, who would you pick?
Crayon Pop of course!! and PSY for King.

Our fans are fantastic and one time our fans did a massive performance for us ofBar Bar Bar which very amazing.

Who do you have a secret pop crush on?
OMG – One Direction.

After Australia, Crayon Pop plans to have second promotion tour in Hong Kong



Crayon Pop is headed to Hong Kong after its promotional tour in Australia.

The members will be staying in Hong Kong between November 20 and 24 in order to perform at 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) and continue its world-wide promotion this time in Hong Kong.

Crayon Pop stayed in Australia for a week starting on November 3 to promote the group and K-Pop in the country. Similarly, the group will continue to venture out to Hong Kong with the support of Chrome Entertainment, Crayon Pop’s agency and Sony Music Entertainment.

Crayon Pop will be performing at famous sites in Hong Kong, such as Victoria Peak, and hold fan meetings to interact directly with fans in the country.

A Chrome Entertainment staff commented, “This will be Crayon Pop’s third performance following its performance in Australia and concert in Japan. The members will help strengthen the presence of-Pop stars globally through this visit.”

Meanwhile, Crayon Pop will be putting on a collaboration performance with ‘YouTube stars’ Ylvis at 2013 MAMA.

How was Crayon Pop-Ylvis First Encounter? ‘An Honor to Perform on Stage Together’



Fun girl group, Crayon Pop and Norwegian duo Ylvis expressed their thoughts on their first meeting.

At the 2013 MAMA welcome meeting, both groups revealed their thoughts on one another and their collaboration.

Crayon Pop commented, “We saw Ylvis first on YouTube and thought they were a fun group. It was an honor to be on the same stage with them.”

Ylvis commented, “We didn’t know Crayon Pop until after we were invited to the MAMA. When we first saw their music video, we couldn’t stop singing along to it. We welcome them to Norway anytime!”

Crayon Pop showed their excitement and stated that they would love to visit Norway. The group had recently visited Australia and Hong Kong and hoped to do a guerrilla concert in Norway someday as well.

Both groups performed “Bar Bar Bar” and “The Fox” at the 2013 MAMA together and revealed a fun and energetic performance.

Crayon Pop Attends 2013 MAMA In Their ‘Bar Bar Bar’ Track Suits, Helmets, And Capes: Why They Wore It on Red Carpet?



When the group arrived at the Red Carpet podium, they told the commentators, which included 1TYM’s Danny Im, they were not going to change their concept anytime soon. When Crayon Pop were asked if they’d try a sexier type of concept, they said they were more comfortable with their current style. Is it that Crayon Pop would rather be conservative or have they branded themselves as the sporty, YouTube sensations which they have become?

For their 2013 MAMA stage, Crayon Pop added capes as accessories to to their normal Bar Bar Bar attire. The capes were added at the suggestion of Choa, who said Bar Bar Bar sounds like an action hero anthem.The group added capes and alluded to using laser guns to pay homage to the Japanese superhero anime, Gatchaman or Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, which is popular in Korea.

Ellin, Gum Mi, So Yul, Choa, and Way were an adorable alternative to an increasingly sexed-up show with acts like Trouble Maker turning up the heat. Having fans that are both male and female aids Crayon Pop in making the decision to stick with their current concept. However, will fans grow tired of it?

When Crayon Pop performs in showcases, they do not wear the full attire and helmets that have become their international trademark. Much like PSY, who performed his Gangnam Style stages in his green tuxedo, Crayon Pop has become known for their quirky, athletic fashion. It is definitely a breath of fresh air in a sea of artists who are striving to push the envelope further than their predecessors.

The girls of Crayon Pop reveal their thoughts on their helmet concept

During the latest filming of QTV’s ‘Handsome Boy Communication’, Crayon Pop shared their honest thoughts on the unique concept for “Bar Bar Bar" and their previous songs.

They explained, “Our agency is a new business, and it was our CEO’s first experience in the entertainment world. We prepared our concept specifically to set us apart. With our 1st album, there wasn’t much different from us and other girl groups.”

Crayon Pop also told the story of how they came to wear helmets, saying, “In the end, we wore training gear and helmets. To be honest, when people stared at us strangely or when we went to broadcast stations, we were embarrassed. It was an idea that ChoA came up with. At first, the CEO was doubtful, but then we went to buy helmets. We tried out motorcycle helmets first before our current scooter helmets.”

Crayon Pop “Look forward to this year’s ballad, drama and variety show talents” [Interview]



Through 2013’s “Bar Bar Bar”, Crayon Pop emerged as the nation’s girl group, and has gradually reached their third year since their debut.

With the title of nation’s girl group, they had a busy year. Last year in June, with the craze of the public release of ‘Bar Bar Bar’,  various communities started uploading parody videos such as ‘000 5 cylinder dance’ ‘000 BarBarBar’ etc. on Youtube, attracting the attention of fans worldwide. Crayon Pop, who became a trend, said that they will take another step forward in 2014.

◆As a nation’s girl group on the brink

In the past 2012 July, Crayon Pop made their debut with the release of ‘Saturday Night’, followed by 'Bing Bing' and ‘Dancing Queen’. However, they did not receive much attention and underwent a year of anonymity.

“One year after our debut we had released three albums, but unlike our original expectations there was no reaction, so i was worried and thought, ‘Do we have to stop our activities now?’. We could not make an appearance on music broadcast stations, and  it was even tougher because we and the agency were all rookies. Nothing went well as planned.”

However, their efforts eventually bore fruit. ‘Bar Bar Bar’ has became a big hit. Wearing a helmet, dancing to the funny dog-legged dance, matching like a promise, various communities covered the parody video and attracted the attention of the public.

“From that day on the ranking climbed up a little by little. It was not until it reached top 10 in the charts that we felt like it was something. We were amazed and touched, thinking back on that time. When we found out that we were number one, we were so excited that we screamed. We lost count of how many times we rechecked the result because we could not believe it.”

◆The key to success is communication with fans ‘Samgyeopsal meeting’

Crayon Pop made themselves known through street performances and, unlike existing girl groups, they emphasized communicating with their fans. Even though they emerged as the nation’s girl group, they are keeping to their original resolution while working on various other events. There is a handshake meeting to exchange handshakes with the fans who come to see them, and of course the  ’Jokbal meeting’ has also continued to reflect the opinions of the male fans.

“Not only is it good to have small events, but it is also possible to get a little closer to our fans, and we want to be able to show them various sides of Crayon Pop through a lot of concerts. It seems that Samgyeopsal is good for the meeting event. Recently, the members have fallen for Samgyeopsal. (laugh)”



◆2014 performance + musicality notice

Crayon Pop, who wrapped up 2013 with ‘Bar Bar Bar’ followed by the Christmas seasonal song ‘Lonely Christmas’, are preparing for their new album in February this year.

“Since we were receiving attention due to the unique concept, we want to show our own style of music for this year’s album. Whether we are choosing a performance or choosing a different style entirely, we get worried. If we have the opportunity we also want to try ballads, unit activities and individual activities.”

Last year, at ‘2013 MAMA’ they won the award for ‘Best New Female Group’, and this year they promised to take it one step further.

“If we have the opportunity, we would like to challenge ourselves in various areas, such as in variety shows and dramas, but as singers we think that it is more important to show our development on stage. Last year we received the Best New Female Group award at the ‘2013 MAMA’ award show; so we want to win the Best Female Group award for the coming year."

People are watching to see whether Crayon Pop, who became the nation’s girl group last year, will  be able to cause another storm in the music industry when they release their new album in February this year.
