SISTAR and Roy Kim were last week’s winners of major TV music shows.
“Give It To Me,” the title tune to SISTAR’s second studio release, was the No. 1 tune on Mnet’s “M! CountDown” and KBS’s “Music Bank.”
“Thank you, Lord, for this. We are so honored and thankful for such a meaningful trophy. We will work harder so that SISTAR will always bring good music and I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this music. Thank you for your love and support,” Hyolyn said, after beating out veteran singer Lee Seung-chul on Mnet’s music show.
The girls also nabbed the trophy on KBS music program “Music Bank,” beating out K-pop boy band MBLAQ.
On the other hand, Roy Kim’s “Love Love Love” grabbed the top trophy on MBC’s “Music Core,” beating out K-pop girl group Girl’s day and Lee Seung-chul.
The solo artist, who promised to do a goofy dance if he won a trophy, was not able to appear on the show but kept his word and danced in front of his fans during his first solo concert in Busan the same day.
SBS’s Sunday music show “Inkigayo” was cancelled in expression of producers showing their condolences for the victims of Korean airplane Asiana’s crashing the same day.
